Attention! When Christmas Finally Arrives...

December 25th2017

As we all know, Christmas is among the best times of the year.

Christmas in fact, was inspired by Saint Nickolas, now reimagined as the iconic, Santa Clause

The story of Santa Claus comes from the presence of Saint Nickolas, who was known to give gifts for the poor. He was known as Saint Nicholas, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, and now simply as just Santa.

The modern Santa Claus grew out of traditions surrounding the historical Saint Nicholas, who was a fourth-century Greek bishop and gift-giver of Myra. The British figure of Father Christmas and the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas were also both based on Saint Nicholas. Some maintain Santa Claus also absorbed elements of the Germanic god Wodan, who was associated with the pagan midwinter event of Yule and led the Wild Hunt, a ghostly procession through the sky.

The History behind the religious Side of christmas

Christmas is marked on the 25 December 7 January for Orthodox Christians. Christmas is a Christian holy day that marks the birth of Jesus, the son of God, our Lord.

Christmas today is percieved by Christians, and other groups, a holiday dedicated towards loving, caring, being appreciative, and sometimes gift-giving to your loved ones whom you adore.

Santa Claus is also a metaphor for the gift-giver, one who gives gifts to others and spreads happiness, just like whom Jesus Christ, son of God, the Savior, our Lord, was sent here to die for our sins so that we can be saved and may live with him eternally after death.
